The Negotiation Skills training course addresses these issues and is an introductory level programme primarily for the police service. It shows delegates how to use what they say and do to calm, direct and influence people they are talking to in a range of different situations.

It is suitable for Police Officers, Prison negotiators and Mental Health negotiators.

Negotiation Training (Police) Course Aims

The Negotiation Skills training course is an introductory level programme for the police service. Delegates will learn the impact of using language – both verbal and non-verbal – to calm, direct and influence others.

The course utilises a range of NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) techniques and delegates will learn how to use what and how they say to have a maximum effect. This course considers suicide and hostage negotiation in both face-to-face and over the phone situations.

The Negotiation Skills (Police) training course is a half to full day duration course and on completion all delegates receive a Certificate in Negotiation Skills (Police) accredited by GoodSense Training.

  • Feel confident in a range of negotiation situations and be able to adapt their communication style effectively to match others
